Association for Career and Technical Education
(Business Education Division)

 
The Business Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education has a broad-based foundation of persons who are dedicated to educating today's students for tomorrow's business community. Members include educators from middle schools, junior high schools, secondary schools, vocational and career centers, adult education, community and technical colleges, four-year baccalaureate degree programs, graduate degree programs, and other related institutions and organizations.
 


Business Professionals of America
 
Business Professionals of America is a national student organization for students enrolled in business, office, and technology education programs at the middle school, secondary school, and postsecondary school levels.
 


Career College Association
 
NBEA cooperates with the Career College Association in calling attention to the value of business education, especially at the postsecondary level. A coordinating committee is jointly appointed by the two associations to examine and develop activities to further stimulate interest in postsecondary education for careers in business.
 


DECA
 
DECA, a national association of marketing education students, provides teachers and members with educational and leadership development activities to merge with the education classroom instructional program. DECA chapters attract students who are interested in preparing for entrepreneurial, marketing, or management careers. Working hand-in-hand with the education and business communities, DECA’s goal is for its student members to develop a “career success kit” to carry into their business and personal lives after graduation.
 


Delta Pi Epsilon
 
Delta Pi Epsilon is a national graduate honorary society for professionals who support and promote scholarship, leadership, and cooperation toward the advancement of education for and about business. Delta Pi Epsilon was established in 1936 at New York University and presently is made up of members affiliated with over 90 university and state-based chapters.
 


Foundation for the Future of Business Education
 
The Foundation for the Future of Business Education is an organization devoted to assisting educators and others in promoting business education through strategies and materials that result in increased enrollments, an exciting and relevant curriculum, and ensuring the future of business education.

 


Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda
 
FBLA-PBL is a dynamic organization of young people preparing for success as leaders in business, government, and communities. FBLA-PBL's mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
 


Joint Committee on Economic Education
 
NBEA co-sponsors the Joint Committee on Economic Education with Delta Pi Epsilon; each appoint three members to this Committee in addition to the executive director of NBEA.
 


Jump$tart Coalition
 
The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy seeks to improve the personal financial literacy of young adults. Jump$tart's purpose is to evaluate the financial literacy of young adults; develop, disseminate, and encourage the use of guidelines for grades K-12; and promote the teaching of personal finance. The Jump$tart Coalition believes that all young adults need to have the financial literacy necessary to make informed financial decisions.

 

National Association of Supervisors for Business Education
 
The National Association of Supervisors for Business Education (NASBE) is an organization of business education supervisors who are direct employees of a state, region, or local education agency. The purpose of this association is to further the cause of business education and the welfare of the field and professional members. NASBE is affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education and NBEA and works cooperatively with the others as voted by the active membership.
 


National Council on Economic Education
 
NBEA shares a common goal with the National Council on Economic Education to improve the economic literacy of all Americans. In order to achieve this goal, the National Council on Economic Education invites an active member of NBEA to serve on its Board of Directors as a liaison between the Council and the National Association.
 


Pi Omega Pi
 
Pi Omega Pi is the national business education teacher honor society with the purpose of promoting scholarship and service in business education. The history of Pi Omega Pi includes over 70 years of service to its members.

The U.S. Department of Education's Web site contains a wealth of information that includes the President's and Secretary's priorities, funding opportunities, student financial assistance, research and statistics, news and events, program and services, publications and products, education office and budget, year 2000 computers, other sites, and much more.
