Professional Bio

As NBEA's Education Manager, I bring more than a decade of instructional design, curriculum development, and professional learning program expertise to the association. Before joining NBEA, I served as Senior Instructional Designer and AI Innovation Leader at New Mexico State University Global Campus, where I built the university's Outcomes & Assessment program from the ground up and led AI integration initiatives across a division serving 100+ faculty and staff.

I earned my Master of Arts in Learning Design & Technology from the University of Colorado Denver, and I am a Quality Matters Master Reviewer and a Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM).

My career spans higher education, corporate operations, and independent design practice, including 25+ years of project management and program leadership across industries ranging from aviation to legal services. I enjoy presenting at conferences, I'm a gamification enthusiast, and I'm the founder of Studio 88 Design, my instructional design portfolio and freelance practice. I am also a Royal Conservatory-trained music theory instructor, and in 2014 I brought courses for an intensive music theory program online for a private studio in Tampa. Though that was my first step into online learning, I still look back with pride on it as just one example of my instinct and passion for building what doesn't yet exist.

I live in Cookeville, Tennessee, where I tend a flock of backyard hens and go by "Baba" to my grandchildren.
