Frequently Asked Questions

Can my school get invoiced for multiple teachers at once?

Yes, NBEA makes this process easy. Your organizational primary contact can renew all teachers at once. Or, you can complete the rapid renew form, and NBEA staff will do it for you. NBEA.org/RapidRenew

When will my membership start?

Individual memberships start immediately upon payment. Institutional memberships (NBHS Secondary, NBHS Collegiate, and Associate) begin after the application is approved.

Will my membership auto-renew and auto-pay?

NBEA now has "auto-renew" and "auto-pay" options for members. Auto-renewal automatically generates an invoice and sends it to the member a few weeks before expiration. Auto-pay takes auto-renewal a step further and automatically processes the payment to the credit card you authorized on file. Auto renew and auto-pay features can be turned off at any time by the master account contact or for the individual member.

What is my expiration date?

Your membership expiration falls on the anniversary of your join date and remains the same date each year. You can log in to NBEA.org and view your profile to confirm your expiration date.

If you renew after your expiration date, your renewal still extends from your original anniversary — not the date you renewed. This protects continuous membership status, which matters for leadership eligibility and uninterrupted professional liability insurance coverage.

NBHS Secondary and Collegiate Chapter memberships are due each Fall, by October 1.

Will NBEA notify me when I need to renew?

Yes. NBEA sends renewal email reminders beginning 90 days before your expiration, again one day before expiration, once on the day of lapse, and a final reminder approximately one week after expiration. Your expiration date and username also appear in most NBEA newsletters.

Which membership is right for me?

It depends on your role:

  • Active business educators — Professional Membership
  • Fully retired educators — Retiree Membership
  • Undergraduate students preparing to teach business — Student Membership
  • High schools recognizing top business students — NBHS Secondary Chapter
  • Colleges and universities recognizing top business students — NBHS Collegiate Chapter
  • Vendors, non-profits, and non-educator partners — Associate Membership
