Most business educators didn't enter the profession to spend their Sunday nights writing the same correction 30 different ways. Yet meaningful, personalized feedback is one of the most powerful things a teacher can give, and one of the most time-consuming to deliver at scale.
This session tackles the feedback problem head-on. You will learn how to use AI tools to generate specific, rubric-aligned written feedback on student work in a fraction of the time it currently takes. We will walk through building a rubric from scratch using AI, generating feedback that reflects your own tone and expectations, and creating formative assessment tools: exit tickets, self-assessment prompts, and quick-check questions that help students catch their own errors before you ever see the work.
We will also spend time on the harder conversation: what it means to use AI in assessment ethically. How transparent should you be with students and parents? How do you stay the final voice in your own classroom? You will leave with a practical disclosure framework and a clear picture of where AI helps and where your professional judgment is irreplaceable. Come prepared with a real assignment. We will generate feedback on actual student writing together.
Measurable Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Produce specific, rubric-aligned written feedback on a student writing sample using an AI feedback tool in 5 minutes or less, demonstrated during the session's hands-on activity.
Build a formative assessment bank of at least three tools (exit ticket, self-assessment prompt, and discussion starter) for a current business unit using AI, completed during the session.
Draft a written AI-use disclosure statement — appropriate for their specific school or district context — that communicates to students and families how AI supports, but does not replace, teacher feedback.

Brittany Hall is a dedicated business educator with a passion for preparing students for success in today’s technology-driven world. She currently teaches Business Data Applications, Marketing, Advanced Personal Finance, and Accounting at the high school level, where she focuses on creating engaging, real-world learning experiences that help students build career-ready and financial literacy skills. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Brittany serves as a DECA advisor, helping students develop leadership, communication, and career-readiness skills through competitive events and professional experiences. Prior to teaching in high school, Brittany served as an adjunct instructor at a local community college, where she gained valuable experience supporting diverse learners and fostering student growth in higher education settings.
Brittany is recognized for her leadership and innovation in integrating artificial intelligence into education. In 2026, she was honored as a state winner for the AI Presidential Challenge, recognizing her commitment to advancing AI literacy and meaningful classroom implementation. She has also presented at SCBEA and participated as a presenter in the NBEA Business Education Artificial Intelligence Symposium, where she shared practical strategies for using AI tools to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
